Greetings: This is the organizer of the Nanotech meetup group in Atlanta. Even if you cannot physically meet, please join this group and participate in the active discussions. The benefit you will derive is proportional to the effort that you will make.
Atlanta is becoming the MECCA of nanotechnology. From the enormous investment by the State of Georgia in the new Nanotechnology Center at the Georgia Institute of Technology, to the apparent willingness of venture capitalists to support this technology, to the availability of commercial incubators with enormous raw talent almost next door, Atlanta is it.
Do not be put off if your background is not pure science. MOST TRUE BREAKTHROUGHS COME FROM A COMBINATION OF DISCIPLINES. Remember that elucidation of the structure of DNA, of profound impact to biology, was done with the techniques of a metallurgist, over a very short period. Thus, we want your input, irrelevant of your background. Your off-beat insights into current problems may just be unique enough to solve them.
Please join the group. Meet if you can, but mostly start new discussions and let's make it snowball.
Sincerely, Robert Indech, PhD PE wink
